The goaltender wants to test the market, Christian Dubé tells Frank Stettler (Freiburger Nachrichten).

Reto Berra

Reto Berra's contract with HC Fribourg-Gottéron expires at the end of this season. It includes, however, an option for both him and the team to extend the consisting deal for another two seasons. An option the goaltender does not want to make use of.

However, this does not necessarily mean that he will leave the Dragons. As for now, the goaltender tells the same source that he ideally wants to have a clear grasp on his future by the start of the season.

Watson has already talked to EHC Biel's team manager Martin Steinegger, who will have to hire a new goaltender as of next season given that Jonas Hiller has decided to retire.

While Steinegger does not exclude Berra as an option, he also states that he would also not hesitate to replace Hiller with an import goaltender. He is also currently looking at some goaltenders with dual citizenships.
