As the Oltner Tagblatt suggests, he might be a possible candidate for the vacant assistant coaching position. For EHC Olten's current head coach Fredrik Söderström, Jakobs would be a known commodity. They already worked together in the 2017-18 season, when they led Norwegian team Storhamar Hockey to the Championship title.
EHC Olten's former assistant coach Dennis Hall mutually terminated his contract with the Swiss League team one week ago due to health problems. Ever since, it is the club's team manager Marc Grieder who is helping out behind the bench of the Mice.
