René Fasel will definitely step down as president of the IIHF

"I have made a final decision that I will not be going for a new term", Fasel told TASS (relayed by SwissHabs). "I will be 70 years old and I think it will be the right time to stop." He will thus leave his post as president of the IIHF in 2020.

The long-term president already said towards the end of last year that it is his intention to step down. His successor is going to be elected at the IIHF Congress in Switzerland during the 2020 World Championships.
