The SCL Tigers already announced the signing of the 22-year-old for the next two seasons until the end of the 2020-21 season in January. As EHC Visp was defeated by EHC Olten in four games, the SCL Tigers will now be able to count on Sturny for the playoffs.

This regular season, his third in the Swiss League, Sturny recorded a career-high of 15 goals and 15 assists for a total of 30 points, the second best for a U23-player in the league after Kaj Suter of the GCK Lions.
