The SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers officially announced the signing of the Czech forward, who arrives from Zürich.

Roman Červenka leaves the Lions and joins the Lakers.

With this signing, the Lakers now have five import-forwards on their roster for the upcoming season: Andrew Rowe, Casey Wellman, Kevin Clark, Danny Kristo, and Roman Červenka. The 33-year-old already played three seasons in Switzerland, two with HC Fribourg-Gottéron and one with the ZSC Lions. Overall, he scored 40 goals and collected 91 assists in 117 National League games. Last season, however, Červenka suited up only in 26 games for the Lions, due to serious health problems. The native of Prague also played in the NHL and in the KHL.

"With Roman Červenka, we have engaged the desired powerplay center," says team manager Janick Steinmann about the 33-year-old Czech and sees him as the ideal addition for the Lakers: "His offensive qualities will help us win games. Roman has passed all fitness and health checkups and is in a top condition that allows him to play at the highest level for several years to come. He is an absolute professional model and has proven his qualities in all leagues of the world. The whole organization will benefit."
