Genève-Servette HC has officially announced the signing of Eric Fehr, as Le Matin reported they were about to. The 33-year-old forward did not receive a suitable contract offer from any NHL-organization, which led to his joining the Eagles.

"My family and me are very happy to start off this new chapter of my hockey career. I have always wanted to play in Switzerland and am lucky to have the possibility to do so in such an incredible city as Geneva. I am looking forward to meeting the fans, my teammates and my work environment", the newly acquired import comments.

"Eric brings the experience of more than 700 NHL games to Genève-Servette," team manager Chris McSorley mentions. "An excellent center, Eric is a very talented forward with a very good shot and good playmaking abilities."

The Canadian has suited up 722 times for various NHL-teams, mainly for the Washington Capitals. In 2015-16, he won the Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Last season, he played for the Minnesota Wild. In total, Fehr recorded 122 goals and 111 assists during his time in the NHL. He also has half a season in Europe under his belt, making 21 appearances in the Finnish Liiga in 2012.
