Max Wärn, who most recently played for Jokerit Helsinki in the KHL, will join Lausanne HC today for his first training session with the team. The 31-year-old is supposed to replace Canadian forward Cory Emmerton, who is expected to be sidelined for three weeks.

Wärn was a fifth-round draft pick in the 2006 NHL Draft. The forward spent four of his past five seasons in the Kontinental Hockey League with HK Sochi, Kunlun Red Star and Jokerit Helsinki. For the latter, he scored four goals in 25 games last season.
