According to Der Bund, both the Finnish coach and the club from the capital city would like to extend their agreement.

Wants to stay in Bern: Kari Jalonen.

Apparently, Kari Jalonen has decided that he would like to stay in Bern. Coach and club those have the same goal: To keep working together. On this basis, Der Bund writes, an agreement should be reached in the next week or two. The most likely option thus seems to be a new two-year deal - if they find common ground in terms of money.

The discussions, however, are far from over, team manager Alex Chatelain says to the same source: "One question is: Is Kari also willing to work for us under changing circumstances?" Meaning: The balance of power is shifting in Switzerland's hockey landscape and Jalonen might not always have a team that is able to compete for the championship.
