HC Davos has decided to extend the contract of the Finnish defenseman until spring 2020.

Otso Rantakari remains with HC Davos.

With the extension of Otso Rantakari, who was initially signed until the end of the Spengler Cup as an injury replacement for Magnus Nygren, HC Davos has now five imports under contract until the end of the season, the others being Magnus Nygren ((SWE)), Perttu Lindgren ((FIN)), Aaron Palushaj ((USA)), and Mattias Tedenby ((SWE)).

Rantakari has scored eight goals in 19 games so far, the most by any defenseman. He has also collected six assists. On average, the 26-year-old spends 17:41 minutes on the ice per game. Moreover, the Finn ranks third in shots per game among defensemen, with 2.95.
