The forward has agreed to a new deal valid until 2023, replacing his contract that was set to expire at the end of the season.

Forward Chris Baltisberger to remain in Zürich.

A month after his brother Phil, also Chris Baltisberger decided to sign a new contract, which is valid for three more seasons, with the ZSC Lions. Baltisberger has been part of the Lions' organization since 2003, when he was 12 years old, playing more than 400 games in the National League and more than 100 games with the GCK Lions in the Swiss League. With the ZSC, Baltisberger won three Swiss championships and a Swiss cup.

"Chris' physical playing style is extremely good for our team and his work in front of the goal, especially in power play, is top class," says team manager Sven Leuenberger. "Since Chris embodies the Lions' DNA perfectly, I'm very happy about his contract extension. He is one of us!"

This season, Baltisberger has scored eight goals and put up two assists in 24 games (including the Swiss cup). In the Lions' roster, he is the fifth most-used player in the power play, averaging 2:50 minutes per game.
