National League

According to Klaus Zaugg (Watson), HC Ambrì-Piotta might give a chance to Philip-Michäel Devos (29) and Jonathan Hazen (29).

The two Canadian forwards have been dominating the Swiss League for several years, therefore it is not a surprise that some clubs from the National League have shown interest in them. Already at the beginning of December, the Berner Zeitung reported that the SCL Tigers were exploring this option. Now, the team manager of HC Ajoie, Vincent Léchenne, confirms to Watson that not only HC Ambrì-Piotta but also HC Lugano has shown a certain interest. The Biancoblù do not have a single import-player under contract for the next season yet.

Devos and Hazen both have a contract in place with HC Ajoie until the end of next season but they both have an out-clause for the National League that they can activate until the end of March. At the moment, however, the two Ajoulots have not received concrete offers from National League clubs as Devos told RSI yesterday: "It's true that Hazen and I wonder why our time hasn't come yet. We think we have the necessary qualities, but sometimes things don't work out the way you want them to, it's part of the game. This year, in the Swiss Cup, we managed to beat three National League teams, but it's not enough as proof that we're up to it. We need a whole season to test ourselves in the top league and who knows if we will ever have this chance".
