The 36-year-old forward just announced his retirement on TSN's TradeCenter.

Upshall, who was drafted by the Nashville Predators in 2002, appeared in over 800 NHL games over the course of his career, recording 192 goals and 155 assists.

He did not play last season, but returned to the ice this year when he joined HC Ambrì-Piotta in November in order to prep for the Spengler Cup. In twelve games for HCAP, he recorded four goals and three assists.
