Albeit quite small, i.e. CHF 1'925, the Board of Directors of HC Fribourg-Gottéron will present to the shareholder a profit after this particular season that saw the cancellation of the playoffs, which normally strongly affect the financial result, as confirmed by the CEO Raphaël Berger: "For the public, given the context of the last few months, this is undoubtedly a pleasant surprise, but for us, who have access to several intermediate results, this outcome is in line with our expectations"

The three key points that have enabled the Dragons to present positive accounts are a gastronomic sector on the right track, the highest average attendance in the last five years (6182 spectators per game), and the implementation of short-time work, which compensated for the losses caused by the game behind closed doors and the cancellation of the play-offs.

As a precautionary measure to ensure that they would have sufficient liquidity in July and August, the club also borrowed the sum of CHF 500,000 from the Confederation, which released a CHF 50 million aid fund for sport at the beginning of the pandemic.
