"I can confirm that he will not continue his career with us. It is not up to me to tell you where he will play next," team manager Reto Kläy tells the Neue Zürcher Zeitung. According to Kläy, they had offered their captain a three-year deal, but with a lower salary than before.
Blick reported yesterday that Raphael Diaz who has recorded one goal and seven assists for EVZ this season so far, has supposedly agreed to a four-year deal with HC Fribourg-Gottéron. The team and the player have yet to confirm this report.
As a consequence of Diaz' departure, it is possible that EV Zug will have to hire at least one import-defenseman for the upcoming season, as Reto Kläy confirms to Zentralplus. "The chance that we will operate once again with four import-forwards is very small," he says.
