Asked by Blick what he thinks about the idea of increasing the import-player contingent in Switzerland, Salis dryly comments: "Not much." Why? "One deprives one's own young players of the prospect of a professional career, because far fewer Swiss players are needed," Salis explains. He also says that fans and sponsors identify with Swiss players.
Increasing the number of imports to lower salaries is not an argument for Salis: "The planned Financial Fairplay would regulate that anyway. Why do we need both?" Otherwise clubs and the Lions would have to think twice if they wanted to invest that much money in their youth organization: "Why invest in a product that we are going to import anyway?," he asks.
Moreover, Edgar Salis explains in the interview with Blick, what he would change about Swiss hockey. Find the link to the whole interview below.
