As EV Zug's team manager Reto Kläy states, Justin Abdelkader does not come to Zug because of the money: "He has earned enough during his career," Kläy says. "He simply wants to play again and present himself on the market, which is why his signing practically doesn't burden our budget."
Justin Abdelkader has played more than 800 games in the NHL - all of them for the Detroit Red Wings. He scored 112 goals and added 153 assists in his time in the NHL. EV Zug is his first team in Europe and outside of North America as such.
