After six years with them, the Canadian will leave his current club at the end of the season.

Would like to stay in the country: Jeff Tomlinson

"I still have to digest all this properly. That's why I haven't thought about the future yet. I have an agent who is now looking around. I would like to stay in Switzerland", Jeff Tomlinson states in an interview with the Südostschweiz.

The soon-to-be-former head coach of the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers was recently informed that the club is scouting the coaching market. "I would have loved to stay with the Lakers. However, when the sporting management told me during the contract negotiations that they were sounding out the coaching market and that I was only an option, I realized that they were not going to back me unconditionally. That is legitimate. But I would have expected that after the successes of the past few years, I would not just be an option, but the candidate with the best cards. That is why I had to make a decision for myself", he comments.

The 50-year-old Canadian mentions that he has a special relationship with the Lakers. "I went and still go to work every day with great joy. That's also one reason why I am always at the rink so early. I loved my job here and also my players. The Lakers were like a big family to me. I will always have fond memories of the club and look back on the good times I had here."
