National League

As Ajoie's team manager Vincent Léchenne confirms to Klaus Zaugg (Watson), he is in negotiations with HC Sierre's top scorer.

Will Guillaume Asselin play for HC Ajoie next season?

"Yes, it's true," Vincent Léchenne tells Zaugg. "We are in talks and are confident that we will find a solution." The only problem: Guillaume Asselin has a valid contract with HC Sierre for the upcoming season. Léchenne hopes that Sierre would release him and grant Asselin the opportunity to play in the National League.

This season, Asselin was the Swiss League's third-best scorer with 66 points (25 goals) in 43 games. Only HC Ajoie's Jonathan Hazen (81 points in 46 games) and Philip-Michael Devos (79 points in 46 games) were better than the 28-year-old.

Moreover, Zaugg reports that the Ajoulots are also interested in 25-year-old forward Marc Aeschlimann. When they approached him during the season, he apparently was not interested. But this seems to have changed, since Aeschlimann's contract with HC Davos has not been extended.
