The 30-year-old forward has agreed to a two-year deal and will thus stay in Zug until the end of the 2022-23 season.

Carl Klingberg stays

According to team manager Reto Kläy, EV Zug knew early that they wanted to extend their contract with Carl Klingberg. However, they could not move forward until it was clear that Grégory Hofmann would leave the team to play in North America, thus allowing them to play with five import players next season.

Klingberg's deal includes a KHL out clause which can be activated at the end of the 2021-22 season. In 50 regular-season games, the forward recorded 19 goals and 20 assists. He added six goals and four assists in 13 playoff games to his tally.
