As announced by his new club Luleå HF, Linus Omark has signed a three-year contract (1+2) with them but he has the opportunity to return to Geneva for the 2022-23 season. This way, the Swedish forward will be able to stay with his loved ones in his home country during the upcoming season. Omark counts on activating the option to return to the Vernets in a year and honor his second year of contract with Genève-Servette HC.

The Grenats understood Omark's situation and immediately accepted his request, as team manager Marc Gautschi explains: "This is not an easy situation for Linus Omark. His wish was obviously to be able to play this season with the GSHC, he was looking forward to coming back to Geneva for the summer and the preparation on the ice. Unfortunately, for family reasons, this will not be the case."

Gautschi will now explore the market in order to find a forward "of Linus Omark's caliber for next season". Not an easy task, considering that the 34-year-old put up 71 points in 59 games last season for the Grenats.
