"Hockey has been a huge part of my life ever since I was 6 years old," Viktor Stålberg writes on Twitter. "Now the time has come for me to say good bye to the game as a player. (...) It's been one hell of a ride and I can't wait to see what comes next for myself, Mathilda and the kids."

The last four seasons of his career, the Stanley Cup winner of 2013 has mainly played in Switzerland. First for EV Zug and then for HC Fribourg-Gottéron. All in all, he appeared in 147 games in the National League, in which he recorded 121 points (53 goals).
