With only days until the first puck of the season drops, Robert Mayer still does not know what the future holds for him. The only certainty: At HC Davos, he is no longer welcome. "I hope that we will soon find a solution that works for both sides," team manager Jan Alston says to the Südostschweiz. Mayer's contract in Davos is valid until 2024.
With Alston taking over as HCD's team manager in May, Mayer's fate was sealed. "The goalkeeper position was the first dossier I tackled in Davos," Alston explains. "The framework of a team always starts in goal. I'm glad that Gilles Senn is coming back." Gilles Senn and Sandro Aeschlimann are Alston's choice in net this season.
