When asked about the possibility of Fréderik Gauthier joining HC Ajoie, head coach Gary Sheehan tells Le Matin that the forward would be on the list, but not at the top. Gauthier is currently on a professional try-out with the New Jersey Devils. and would apparently prefer to continue his career in Europe in case he does not manage to land a contract.

Once training camps in the NHL are over, there may be some more candidates available for Ajoie.

Le Matin speculates that Libor Hudáček could be on their list as well. The Slovak joined Lausanne HC from the KHL last February, made four games for them, and then suffered a broken leg. Afterwards, he returned to his former KHL-team Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk but now is said to be on the market again.

According to the source, some Finnish teams have been asked whether any of their players were available to join Ajoie.
