With contracts expiring and teams looking for fresh blood on the goalie position, one of the hottest assets is EV Zug's Luca Hollenstein.

EV Zug

The ZSC Lions, SC Bern, EHC Biel, the SCL Tigers or EV Zug, to only name a few - they all see the contracts of one or even both of their goalies expire at the end of the season. Other teams such as HC Lugano or Genève-Servette HC might be looking for an upgrade on the goalie position, Klaus Zaugg (Watson) writes.

One of the hottest assets is EV Zug's 21-year-old backup Luca Hollenstein. "We are exploring the market," his agent Dani Giger confirms to Zentralplus. But he also says that staying in Zug is far from out of the question: "He feels the trust of the coach, the management, and the team." But with the EVZ Academy gone next season, he will no longer be able to get additional ice time with them.

One team which might play a leading role in this year's goalie carousel is Langnau. The contract of Ivars Punnenovs is expiring, Robert Mayer only has a loan deal for now. "Of course" both are on their list, team manager Marc Eichmann confirms to Klaus Zaugg, "but there are other names as well". According to Zaugg, Damiano Ciacco is one of them, in spite of a valid contract with Ambrì until 2023.
