The defenseman, who has been sidelined due to a concussion for the past 14 months, has yet to make a decision about his future.

"It's not that I can't let go, it's that it doesn't feel done to me yet," Eric Blum tells SRF Sport, adding that due to SC Bern being done after the regular season this year, he did not get the opportunity to test his abilities on the ice some more and see whether he is able to manage his concussion symptoms.

Blum was told in March that he would not receive a new contract from the Bears. They did, however, offer him their infrastructure, so he can train professionally this summer. While he would like to have another go at hockey, he is also optimistic that he will be able to let it go if he has to.

"I am very open-minded and can be enthusiastic," Blum states. "Should the case arise that I will no longer be able to play hockey, I will also accept this challenge with enthusiasm." As for Blick's report about a potential civil lawsuit against Fabrice Herzog, Blum only said that the two parties are currently talking out of court but whether it will turn into civil proceedings is not yet clear.
