According to the Freiburger Nachrichten, it looks like Christian Dubé will stay with Gottéron even beyond next season, when his current contract is going to expire. Dubé calls it a "matter of negotiations", but also says that he likes his current role in the club: "The fact that I can choose the players I coach afterwards is something I find quite interesting."
Christian Dubé also reveals that the club is willing to find a partner in the Swiss League to grant some more ice time to their young players. "We are currently negotiating with a team in the Swiss League," he says without offering any more details.
In addition to the players HC Fribourg-Gottéron bid farewell in yesterday's season-end ceremony, Dubé also reveals that it is unlikely that forward Yannick Herren, who recently played on loan with HC Lugano, is going to return to Fribourg. "We have to find a solution for him," Dubé says.
