On Wednesday night, EHC Kloten won the Swiss League title and achieved their goal of a promotion to the National League. The next day, the news broke that Jeff Tomlinson will not be able to continue as their head coach and that Thierry Paterlini is a candidate for the position.
While Kloten's president Mike Schälchli says to Blick that they are indeed interested in Paterlini, also Paterlini himself confirms to the same source that he is in contact with EHC Kloten. However, he also adds that he is also in talks with the SCL Tigers about their vacant coaching position.
For the past two seasons, Thierry Paterlini has been the head coach of HC La Chaux-de-Fonds in the Swiss League. This season, his season ended in the semifinals, where HCC was defeated by EHC Olten.
