According to phothockey.ch, Malo Gfeller has decided to hang up his skates in order to focus on his studies. The defender was supposed to be integrated into the main roster of HC Ajoie last season but missed most of it due to a collarbone injury. This season, he also mostly played at the U20 level.
The defenseman is a product of HC Ajoie and has, with the exception of a short stint with EHC Biel's U17 team, only ever played for the Ajoulots. This season, he recorded eight goals and 18 assists in 31 games for the U20 team.
