If the rumor will be confirmed, Marc Michaelis will be the sixth import player (four forwards and two defensemen) under contract with the SCL Tigers in the 2022-23 season. Zaugg describes Michaelis as a complete and physically strong forward, from whom goals and good playmaking abilities can be expected.
Michaelis left Germany for the USA in 2014 and has played in North America ever since. Last season, Michaelis suited up 22 times with the Toronto Marlies, the AHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, collecting 13 points. Moreover, he recorded seven points for the German national team at the World Championship.
