The Québécois community in Porrentruy is growing further: in addition to Jérôme Gauthier-Leduc, Jonathan Hazen, Philip-Michëal Devos, and Guillaume Asselin, the Ajoulots have now placed Frédérik Gauthier under contract. HC Ajoie's package of foreigners is completed by US-American defender T.J. Brennan.
Frédérik Gauthier, a former first-rounder (selected 21st overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2013), was last under contract with the New Jersey Devils. Last season, however, Gauthier mainly played for their AHL affiliate, the Utica Comets. With the Comets, the big center scored eight goals and collected 24 assists in 51 games. Overall, in 186 NHL games Gauthier collected 31 points.
