Geoff Ward has recently been rumored to be Lausanne HC's new head coach. Today, the club officially confirmed it.

The 60-year-old Canadian, who agreed on a contract through to the 2024-25 season, has been working for NHL organizations either as assistant or head coach in the past 15 seasons. He will thus suceed John Fust, who recently filled the team manager position within the club.

"Geoff Ward fits the profile we were looking for. He has a lot of experience in Europe and North America," Fust explains. "He is an excellent technician who will allow us to bring out the potential of our team."

Ward will be assisted by the Swede Peter Andersson. In the past five years, the 57-year-old stood behind the boards of SHL's Malmö Redhawks and most recently Brynäs IF. Between 2013 and 2015, he worked as assistant coach at the shores of lake Lugano. Andersson's contract will run at least until spring 2024.
