GCK Lions' team manager Patrick Hager describes Peter Andersson as a dream solution: "Peter has already done so much that he has a vast experience. He enjoys working with young players and will certainly be able to develop our talents". Hager sees defenseman Andersson and forward Liniger as the ideal coaching staff for the GCK Lions: "I am convinced that the two will complement each other perfectly."

Peter Andersson has been working as an assistant coach since 2006. At first he held this position in Sweden (junior league, second highest and highest league). From 2013 to 2015, he was employed in Switzerland with the SCL Tigers, with whom he managed to return to the National League. Most recently, the Swede was working for the Charlotte Checkers in the AHL.

As a defenseman, Andersson played in North America (Washington Capitals, Québec Nordiques, Binghamton Whalers), Switzerland (EV Zug, EHC Kloten) and in Sweden (Timrå IK, IF Björklöven, Lidingö Vikings). He won several medals with the Swedish national team.
