The 34-year-old is going to hang up his skates at the end of the season and become a coach in EHC Biel's organization.

With his contract with HC La Chaux-de-Fonds running out, Philipp Wetzel has decided to put an end his career and return to EHC Biel. Back in Biel, where he played between 2007 and 2018, he will coach the youngest talents of their youth section EHC Biel-Bienne Spirit.

The forward can look back at a career with 489 games in the National League for EHC Biel and SC Bern, as well as more than 260 games in the Swiss League. Since 2018 he has been suiting up for HCC, for which he has recorded ten points (four goals) ever since.
