After the signing of Canadian forward Darcy Murphy, the Lions will focus on the Swiss market rather than the import market.

With the departures of Niki Altorfer (EHC Kloten) and Melvin Merola, who only recently decided to join EHC Visp next season, HC Thurgau loses their two top scorers. As HCT's head coach Stefan Mair tells the Thurgauer Zeitung, it is now their priority to find another Swiss forward to replace Merola.

Mair also says that it might well be that the newly signed Canadian Darcy Murphy will remain the only import-player on their team. "Due to the uncertainty of the corona pandemic, we're cautious," he explains. It thus seems possible that in addition to Connor Jones also his brother Kellen Jones will not return to Thurgau.
