Swiss League

The Swiss League teams (without the farm teams) are looking to legally separate themselves from the SIHF and the National League.

Another shake-up on the horizon?

As Klaus Zaugg (Watson) reports, the presidents of the Swiss League teams (minus the presidents of the three farm teams who will not get a say in this matter) will meet on Friday to discuss the endeavor.

"It will be up to the farm teams whether they want to continue to participate in our championship. But we will say under what conditions," SC Langenthal's Gian Kämpf tells Zaugg. Ueli Schwarz, currently a member of EHC Biel's board of directors, will support the Swiss League teams in their quest to emanicpate themselves from the SIHF and the National League.

HC La Chaux-de-Fonds' Olivier Calame already told Arcinfo last week that the Swiss League teams without the farm teams (GCK Lions, EVZ Academy, and the HCB Ticino Rockets) affiliated to National League clubs are trying to rethink the current model.
