According to Der Landbote, EHC Winterthur will give Daniel Guntern a chance to showcase his skills, as the netminder still has not found a new team for the 2020-21 season. The move became necessary for Winterthur because Marco Mathis is still ill.
The ZSC Lions announced in May that they would not extend the contract of Guntern. The 25-year-old appeared in three games for the ZSC Lions last season (.922 save percentage) and in seven games for the GCK Lions (.887 save percentage).
