Swiss League

As SC Langenthal's president Gian Kämpf says, it has not been decided yet if the two teams will remain in the Swiss League or not.

Quo vadis, Swiss League?

"It is not yet certain that they will disappear from the league," Kämpf tells the Berner Zeitung. The final decision might also be tied to changes in the junior leagues. If the U20-league will become a U22 and the U17 a U18, the development of young players could take place there and not in the Swiss League.

The EVZ Academy and the HCB Ticino Rockets would thus no longer have a place in the league. The GCK Lions, however, are part of the new Swiss League because the team had already been part of the league before the merger with the ZSC Lions.

In general, the Swiss League wants teams that attract bigger audiences, the Berner Zeitung reports, as the league wants to market itself better in the future. Possible candidates from the MySports League are EHC Basel, EHC Arosa, and maybe also HCV Martigny.
