Due to the new pre-playoffs mode which was introduced as of this season, the first six teams are directly qualified for the playoffs, whereas the teams placed seventh to tenth have to fight for the two remaining spots in a best-of-three series.
EHC Visp, as seventh-placed team, will play the HCB Ticino Rockets (10th), while HC La Chaux-de-Fonds, as eigth-placed team, will face the GCK Lions (9th). Puck-drop for Game 1 of the pre-playoff series is set for Wednesday, March 10, at 7.45 pm.
For the two bottom-placed teams, the EVZ Academy (11th) and EHC Winterthur (12th), the season is over, as no Swiss League team will be relegated this season.
