Hangs up his skates: Fernando Heynen

The Walliser Bote already reported that the expired contract of Fernando Heynen will not be extended, now the club confirms this in a media release.

The defenseman is a product of the Swiss League team's organization, and, with the exception of the 2008-09 season, has only ever played for them. For Heynen, this season was not only his last with EHC Visp but also in his entire hockey career: The 33-year old will hang up his skates.

"Hockey on all levels was a school of life for me", Heynen states in the press release. "This time made an impact on my life and I'm grateful for what I was able to experience."

As for Pascal Blaser, Jan Petrig, Nils Berger, Mark Van Guilder and Troy Josephs the club gives no further information. According to the Walliser Bote, the contracts of these players will also not be extended.
