"He is an option," CEO Olivier Schäublin tells the Basellandschaftliche Zeitung when asked about Eric Himelfarb's prospects for the future. Himelfarb is currently in his first season as a coach. He ended his career as a player at the end of the 2021-22 season.
Kevin Schläpfer, who will be EHC Basel's team manager come next season, is currently also back to coaching in Langenthal. According to the same source, it does, however, seem unlikely that Schläpfer will also serve as EHC Basel's head coach.
Schläpfer, himself, had only this to say when asked about the subject matter: "Now that I'm back on the ice more, I'm getting knee problems again."
Schäublin and Schläpfer are also currently in the process of finding new players and extending the contracts of current roster players. Currently, only four of EHC Basel's players have a contract for the upcoming season.
