Eleven players became victims of the Ottawa Senators' first cut to their training camp roster. Among those, three players were returned to their junior clubs, four released from amateur tryouts, and Nathan Todd was released from his professional tryout.

SC Bern's Tristan Scherwey will thus stay in North America for a bit longer - up to a maximum of another two weeks. Scherwey, however, does not have an out-clause for the NHL this year. He will be able to join the NHL next summer at the earliest.
