National Hockey League

The forward and the defenseman do not figure on the initial invitation list of the Washington Capitals.

Damien Riat
Genève-Servette HC

The Tribune de Genève reported a couple of days ago that Damien Riat would soon leave Genève-Servette HC and Switzerland in direction of Washington.

As his agent Frédéric Holdener tells Le Matin, there is no fixed date for Riat to make his way over to Washington yet. It is, however also not clear whether he will join Genève-Servette HC for the entire season: "As of now, I don't know yet."

As for Tobias Geisser, the defenseman had already been loaned to EV Zug at the end of 2019 and was again loaned to EVZ back in August 2020. He has suited up for the National League ever since. In 18 games for them this season, he recorded one goal and one assist.

Fellow Swiss defender Jonas Siegenthaler, who was a regular in the Capitals' lineup last season, is in training camp getting ready for the 2020-21 NHL season to start. Siegenthaler did not play in Europe this year.
