Grönborg not selected - Buffalo Sabres announce head coach

While the NHL team conducted a search for a new head coach, they decided to go with Don Granato who had taken over the job in mid-March.

TSN's Darren Dreger reported at the beginning of June that the Buffalo Sabres had also interviewed the head coach of the ZSC Lions, Rikard Grönborg, for the position.

Don Granato already served as ad-interim head coach for the Sabres this season. He replaced former Swiss national head coach Ralph Krueger on March 17. Granato is the 20th head coach in franchise history.
