As expected, the Minnesota Wild have qualified Kevin Fiala in order to retain his rights. The two parties have been working on a new contract for a while now, but nothing is in place as of now.

As first reported by Aaron Portzline (The Athletic), the Columbus Blue Jackets have issued a qualifying offer to Calvin Thürkauf. However, he will spend the 2021-22 season in Switzerland. Thürkauf signed a three-year deal with HC Lugano back in May.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have also decided to qualify Denis Malgin, as Chris Johnston (Sportsnet) reports. The forward did not play in North America last season. He was loaned to Lausanne HC. In 45 regular-season games, he put up 19 goals and 23 assists.
