According to the Finnish news outlet Iltalehti, the deal between Vesa Viitakoski and the club from Finland's second-highest league, the Mestis, is done. The Walliser Bote already reported on Friday, that the 50-year-old is going to leave Visp in direction of his native country.

Vesa Viitakoski has been EHC Visp's assistant coach since 2017. In his four season with the Lions, he never made it past the quarterfinals - last year, however, only because the season was canceled. This year, Visp lost their quarterfinal-series against HC Ajoie (0-4) after they had eliminated the HCB Ticino Rockets in the pre-playoffs.
