Ben Maxwell's contract with the SCL Tigers has come to an end at the end of April. Now, his new team is known: The Canadian forward will play for the SHL's Linköping HC for the next two seasons.

"We had to make a choice, if we were to stay in Switzerland or move on," Maxwell says on the club's website. "We have looked at Sweden a number of times in recent years and Linköping was a club that expressed great interest."

That the Canadian is going to leave the Tigers does not come as a surprise. Various rumors and reports have been around in the past weeks and months that Sweden might be his new port of call.

Over the course of the past two seasons, Ben Maxwell has suited up for the SCL Tigers. He appeared in a total of 98 regular season games for them, in which he recorded 60 points (26 goals).
