The Sheffield Steelers were looking for a replacement for Travis Oleksuk who is moving on to Austria to play for EC Villach and they have found it in Matias Sointu. The Finnish forward will already skate with the team tonight.
Matias Sointu played four games in the Swiss League last season, recording three assists. It is the second time that he will hit the ice in the Elite Ice Hockey League as he had already played with the Cardiff Devils in the 2019-2020 season.
