Bays, who has been recovering from a knee injury since mid-January, recently underwent medical exams as he still suffered from some knee pain. As a temporary replacement for him, HCC signed former Kloten goalie Dennis Saikkonen to a short-term contract on Monday this week.
On another note, ex-Ajoie forward Konstantin Schmidt, whose try-out contract is set to expire on September 7, is likely to remain with HC La Chaux-de-Fonds for the 2019-20 season.
