Nino Niederreiter might not return against Tampa Bay.

The Carolina Hurricanes' head coach said that Niederreiter returning during the series against the Tampa Bay Lightning is "very, very doubtful" due to an upper-body injury. The Swiss forward already missed last night's Game 1 of the best-of-seven series (1-2 loss).
Niederreiter's absence clearly had an impact, Rod Brind'Amour said. "Well he's a goal scorer, you know? (...) You don't replace that. He's on that power play too. It's an offensive weapon that goes out the window. Again, that's part of the playoffs. Next guy up. Have to fill the shoes."
In six games during Round 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Nashville Predators, Nino Niederreiter scored one goal.
