On HC Fribourg-Gottéron's side, Julien Sprunger had to toss the towel halfway through the third period. After a hit, the Dragons' captain collided with the boards and was unable to get up again at first, only managing to do so with help later on. He did not return for the remainder of the game.

On a more positive note for Fribourg, Marco Dufner was able to participate today. This morning, La Liberté wrote that the defenseman would not yet be ready to return, but tonight, he played a bit over 17 minutes.

On the ZSC Lions' side, Sven Andrighetto left for the locker room at some point in the early phases of overtime. The top scorer did not return for the rest of the game.
